Kaleen Lohnes
MEd RCC

Kaleen has been counselling children, youth and their families/supports since graduating from the University of Victoria in 2009. Her passion for providing service started with work on a Victoria-based suicide prevention hotline and grew to include outreach counselling for children/youth with mental health challenges.

Kaleen has spent the bulk of her practice as a Sexual Abuse Intervention Counsellor assisting children and youth on their journeys through trauma healing and healthy sexual development. She is a client-centered practitioner and believes strongly that the client be in charge of their process. Her approaches are grounded in Attachment Theory and include Cognitive Behavioural and Solution Focused influences as well as art, play and storytelling.

Kaleen can provide individual counselling as well as family support for a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, healthy sexual development, stress, parenting concerns and behavioural/emotional issues.

Kaleen and her husband are busy raising two beautiful children and are grateful to call the Comox Valley home. Kaleen enjoys participating in the theatre community, yoga and time with her family.
